Can You Get Mesh Integration With Alopecia or Active Hair Loss?

Having alopecia or thinning does not automatically mean you can or cannot wear a mesh system. The condition of the scalp and the stability of the hair loss matter.

What I assess

I look at whether the shedding appears stable, how strong the surrounding hair is, and whether the scalp can support an installation without adding unnecessary stress.

When I would not install

I would pause if I see open wounds or sores, active infection, severe inflammation, unexplained or sudden hair loss, or extreme scalp sensitivity or pain.

When I would refer you out first

If the condition is undiagnosed, symptoms are severe or worsening, irritation or inflammation is persistent, hair loss is sudden or aggressive, or I am not sure what I am looking at, I would want you evaluated by a dermatologist before proceeding.

My role is cosmetic hair replacement and integration. I do not diagnose or treat the medical cause of hair loss.
