I do not start a consultation by deciding that the whole head will be mesh or the whole head will be meshless. I look at each area separately.
When I lean toward mesh
Mesh is useful when I need a broader foundation, when the density is too weak or uneven for a standard extension method, or when the top or crown needs more support and coverage.
When meshless may make more sense
Meshless can make sense where there is enough healthy natural hair to support the attachment without laying a full mesh foundation over that area.
Why I may combine them
Hair loss is rarely identical in every zone. A client may have stronger hair around the perimeter but significant loss through the top. In that situation, using mesh where support is needed and meshless where the natural hair is strong enough can be more logical than forcing one technique over the entire head.
What decides it
I assess whether the shedding is stable, how strong the surrounding hair is, whether the scalp can support an installation, and how the client wants to wear and maintain the finished hair.
The diagnosis matters, but the diagnosis alone does not tell me how to build the system. I still have to design around the hair and scalp that are present now.
