Mesh integration is not just another extension method. It is a system that creates a foundation over an area where the natural hair alone may not give me enough support or coverage.
What the mesh does
The mesh acts as the foundation. In a pull-through mesh system, natural hair can be brought through the mesh where it is strong enough to use. A closure, wefts, or added hair can then be incorporated into the design.
The system can be full mesh or partial mesh. I do not automatically cover the entire head just because someone has hair loss.
What I look at before I recommend it
I look at the stability of the hair loss, the strength of the surrounding hair, and whether the scalp and remaining hair can support an installation. I also look at where coverage is actually needed, because the strongest areas of the head may not need mesh at all.
When mesh may make sense
Mesh may be useful when traditional extensions alone cannot give enough coverage, when the top or crown needs a larger foundation, or when the available support hair is uneven from one area to another.
It can also be combined with meshless techniques. One part of the head may need a mesh foundation while another area has enough healthy hair to use a different attachment.
This is still a maintenance service
A mesh system grows out with the natural hair. It requires regular adjustments and periodic full realignment so new growth can be managed and the scalp and foundation can be checked.
