Hair Loss Solutions
The type and pattern of hair loss matter.
I provide cosmetic hair replacement and integration for women with different patterns and amounts of hair loss. The system I use depends on where the loss is, how much natural hair remains, what the scalp can support, and how you want to wear your hair.
Hair-loss terms you may hear
These are medical terms, but I do not diagnose hair loss. A dermatologist should diagnose the cause. I use the diagnosis you already have, together with the amount and location of hair you have, to plan cosmetic coverage.
Female Pattern Hair Loss
A common, progressive form of non-scarring hair loss in women. It often starts with a widening center part and thinning over the top of the scalp.
Alopecia Areata
An autoimmune disease that causes hair loss, often in round or oval patches. In more extensive forms, it can involve the entire scalp or hair elsewhere on the body.
Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (FFA)
A type of scarring alopecia that commonly causes the front and sides of the hairline to recede. Eyebrow loss is also common. Once a follicle is scarred, it can no longer produce hair.
Scarring (Cicatricial) Alopecia
A group of hair-loss conditions in which hair follicles are destroyed and replaced by scar tissue. Hair loss in the scarred area is permanent. FFA is one form of scarring alopecia.
Trichotillomania
A hair-pulling disorder in which repeated pulling causes areas of broken, shortened, or missing hair. The pattern can be very different from one person to another.
Extensive Hair Loss
This describes the amount of hair loss; it is not a diagnosis. It can mean large areas of scalp loss or near-complete or complete scalp hair loss from different conditions. In alopecia areata, complete scalp loss is called alopecia totalis.
What I may use for coverage
The diagnosis does not automatically determine the hair system. I look at the actual area that needs coverage, how much natural hair is available, the texture you wear, and how much maintenance you want.
Custom Hair Systems
For larger areas of loss or when natural hair cannot support a standard extension method.
Toppers + Closures
For targeted top, crown, part, or frontal coverage.
Mesh + Meshless Integration
Used when the remaining hair, scalp, and placement make integration appropriate.
The consultation is for the hair you have now.
I look at where you have loss, where you still have density, the condition of the hair and scalp, how you wear your hair, and what you are willing to maintain. That determines whether I recommend a topper, closure, mesh or meshless integration, extensions, a custom hair system, or a combination.
Hair replacement and integration are cosmetic services. They do not diagnose or treat the medical cause of hair loss.
